Yes- we bought wind-up flashlights, batteries, candles, and water.
No- we did not lose power, we did not have our windows smashed in by the wind, our home did not flood and the seal on our jug of distilled water remains intact.
But we did light candles, carve a pumpkin, make homemade popcorn on the stove and watch old horror movies. Because that is just what you do when a frankenstorm comes to town.
I snapped a few photos of the scenery downtown several hours before Sandy arrived…spooky clouds, no?! I was hoping to preserve a little bit of autumn’s beauty before the storm ripped all of the glowing leaves from their branches.
ps- If you are wondering, no, those glasses are not real. They are a little lingering relic from my Halloween costume. Yes I know, sexy teacher is very creative and original. That’s just the way I roll. And pps, yes, our jack-o-lantern does have one silver tooth/grill. Because that’s just the way he rolls.
