a backyard picnic

Hors d’euorvers, pretty table clothes, wine, cheese, candles, and friends.  This is summer.

On Friday night, the roommie and I invited our best girlfriends over to celebrate the fact that we are all in one place for the first time all summer.  It was such a fun night spent being fancy with our wine glasses and delicious dips (I made an awesome Mediterranean dip- recipe post coming soon)  and repeatedly commenting on how awesome it was to all be together again.  I love my friends.  They are pretty awesome. :)

Have a productive and stress-free Monday, chickens!

ps- I have a doctor’s appointment this morning for the little toe, everyone send your good vibes this way!

garden party

One of the best things about summer fashion is having the opportunity to get dolled up in the girliest of ensembles.  Of course it’s always nice to have an occasion to flaunt said ensemble, but sometimes a little improvisation is required.  These gorgeous dresses have me dreaming of throwing my very own backyard bonanza, complete with fancy hors d’oeuvres, pretty cocktails and sticky ‘smores.

yardwork

here’s a little sneaky peeky at my backyard update: part one!

yes, it’s in its very early stages, but I can already picture this little space all full of flowers and twinkling lights come time for the season’s first garden party.  monday afternoon, the roommie and I threw on our sweats, grabbed a couple paintbrushes, and got to work.  a few extension cords and umbrella-set-up-how-to’s later, we were left with flower soil under our nails and that satisfying feeling of a job well done.  more updates to follow!
