le matin parisien

paris morning.jpg

I can hardly believe I’m off to France Thursday night.(!!!)  Inspired by creative goddess Erin and her recent vacation à Parii, I’ve decided to create my very own make-believe Paris morning.  The details, if you’d like…

Wake up in the softest chemise to the sound of Edith Piaf and the smell of buttery croissants.

Sip black tea from a big mug and pour over the intimate journal of George Sand.

Light some baies and plan the day with doodles and more croissants.

Explore, sleep, repeat.

Breakfast is the best, don’t you think?  I mean, according to Ron Swanson, there’s no sadness that can’t be cured by breakfast food.

Much like Mr. Swanson, I too am one of those who wakes ready to break the fast.  There’s something so refreshing about a good night’s sleep and the kinetic energy of an intact day that just makes me…hungry.  Usually I’m a savory breakfast kinda lady, but in the spirit of traveling meals*, pre-Paris research, and new-to-me bakeries, a slice of walnut raisin toast with peanut butter by the river seemed sweetly appropriate.**

*if you have the option to take your bakery breakfast to a dock by a river, always do it.  then go back to said bakery for lunch 2 days later to enjoy the lovely little garden area…update to follow…

**also, sidenote: shout out to the beehive in bristol for hooking it up with the BEST coconut black tea there ever was. extra shout to M for gifting me that magnificent tea diffuser and making all of my looseleaf dreams come true- you da bomb.

tea story

Man, if tea could talk, it would sure have a lot to say…and it would be very wise.  Luckily, the geniuses behind Yogi tea provide each little baggy with its own scroll to relay their message.  This morning’s tea wisdom is reminding me to soak up time with the people I love, and support them when they’re in need.  I will definitely be keeping this anecdote in mind today, perhaps a bit more than I should (I have this habit of over-analyzing, redistributing meaning, scrambling up in my brain, you know how it goes…), but what better way to spend your Sunday than endlessly pondering the meaning of love?  WOAH weren’t expecting me to get so deep on you, huh?!  Sometimes I just need to unleash my inner-Socrates on all of you.  And today, my morning tea message somehow gave me the boost I needed to do it.

What about all of you, young grasshoppers, how do you use the first few hours of your day to harness inspiration?

good morning

This is not a bad view to wake up to in the morning.  There’s something about hearing the waves, smelling the blueberry pancakes, and feeling the salty air on your face before opening your eyes that sets the tone for a relaxing summer day.  And then you open your eyes.  And it’s calm blue water as far as you can see.  Say it with me now, ahhh.  Happy Tuesday, lovelies!
