Lately I’ve been finding myself surrounded by ultra-girly things…and loving it…
On my dresser: A framed drawing of my favorite flower (a pink peony) done by my Valentine, making friends with a colorful new necklace.
By my window: A set of Parisian Rifle Paper Co. cards I’ve been eyeing for quite some time- gifted to me by the roommie for my birthday. I plan to frame and hang those bad boys as soon as I get some free time…
In the porcelain dish: My current daytime ring collection (that teeny Catbird memory ring is a new addition!).
On my nightstand: A stack of stylish books, two of them birthday gifts from friends who know me oh so well.
On my fingers: Last week’s funky manicure. Hashtag confused ring finger.
On my dining room table: A pretty bouquet of pale pink birthday roses from the boyfriend. I’m a lucky girl :)
On deck for tomorrow: The return of Sandra Jennings to the FBP studios and some major Agon work. Oh, and more of Viktor Plotnikov’s Orchis. Happy Weekend! xx
Rifle Paper Co. is a boutique paper goods brand and design studio created by artist Anna Bond and based in Winter Park, Florida. You guys, Anna’s artwork is sooo up my alley. It’s colorful in the most subtle way, feminine without smacking you in the face with pink sparkly ballerinas, and, as the company’s website so aptly points out, both nostalgic and timeless. While each piece is extremely detailed and full of movement, there is a wonderful sort of unfinished quality to Ms. Bond’s designs that makes them feel organic and effortless. I believe one of the most tragic byproducts of the technological era has been the near-extinction of handwritten cards (that also goes for notes, invitations, and recipes). With my discovery of Rifle Paper Co., I’ve been re-inspired to send more handwritten goodies through that dinosaur of a process we now call “snail mail”, perhaps on some adorable little floral stationary! Also, I’ve already decided I must have one of those phone cases- out next month! For now, I’ll just eagerly await the arrival of my calendar, and take notes on my little zebra notepad. :)
I’m not sure if it’s the unrelenting low temperatures outside or the fact that my current ballet schedule has me missing out on all hours of daylight, but lately I’ve been gravitating toward bright colors, pretty packaging, and fresh looking interiors.
I’ve been meaning to get a calendar for weeks now, and after perusing Anthro, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Frog & Toad and all the usual calendar shopping hotspots with no luck, I decided to bite the bullet and order this one from Rifle Paper Company. To say that I’m eagerly awaiting its arrival would be a massive understatement.
I’m also enjoying my new Hanae Mori No. 7 perfume- happy early birthday to me! Happy Monday all. xx
